George, Do You Know The "Build Today Profit Tomorrow" Strategy?

Hi George,

Daniel Scocco here, and this is the Daily Blog Tips newsletter.

Today I want to talk about a strategy that I call "Build Today
Profit Tomorrow." It can be quite solid in certain niches.

-------

Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably heard about
the launch of the Starcraft 2 game. The first version of this game
was considered by many the best strategy game ever made, so there
was a lot expectation for the sequel.

Long story short Starcraft 2 broke a lot of records, and it
generated a lot of buzz online. Just consider that the term
"starcraft 2" is searched by over 2 million people monthly, and
related keywords like "starcraft 2 demo" or "startcraft 2 review"
have over 50,000 monthly searches.

That is a lot of traffic for people who created websites in this
niche. But you know which websites are the ones that are killing it
right now? The ones that started being built 12 or more months ago.

That is right, some people started building a "Starcraft 2" website
over one year before the actual launch of the game. And it is not
like they purchased the domain and left it there. They were updating
it with new content every day, promoting it, getting backlinks and
so on.

This strategy works because Google will see the very first websites
to talk about a certain topic as the authorities in that niche. If
you start building a website about "Starcraft 2" today you'll have
a very hard time competing with the folks who entered the niche
first.

As you can see the "Build Today Profit Tomorrow" strategy works
very well with products that are going to be released in the future
and that are likely to attract a lot of attention. Examples include
games, new Windows versions, new Apple products and so on.

You can also apply this strategy to seasonal events like the Soccer
World Cup or the Olympic Games. In fact there are people building
sites for the 2018 England World Cup already! That event is 8 years
ahead, but if they manage to secure the top Google spots for related
keywords they'll earn a lot of money with it.

If you have some time available, give this strategy a shot, as it
can be very profitable.

Talk to you next week,
Daniel Scocco

George, I'll Be Glad To Help You If I Can

Hi George,

Daniel Scocco here, and this is the Daily Blog Tips newsletter.

Today I just want to clarify one thing: I view you as a friend. and
not as just another newsletter subscriber. Below you'll find why.

------

If you are reading this email, it means you have been a subscriber
to my newsletter for at least 6 months. How do I know? Because as
of today there are 25 messages on the newsletter, and I send one out
every week. The messages are delivered sequentially, so in order
to receive this one you necessarily went through the past 24.

Since you have been reading my stuff for so long, I felt it would
be cool to clarify a couple of points:

1. I Am Thankful For Your Time

First of all let me say that I am thankful and flattered at the same
time that you take the time to read my content every week. That is
why I always try to put valuable information in the messages, while
keeping the promotional plugs to a minimum.

2. You Can Reply To The Messages and Chat With Me

I am not sure if you know this, but you can reply to each and every
message you get from my newsletter, and the reply will come
straight to my inbox. I always try to answer the emails from my
subscribers, so if you have any doubt, criticism or suggestion,
let me know about it.

3. It Is About the Relationship

When I started this newsletter my goal was to promote my blog. After
a while the number of subscribers started to grow a lot, and I
I figured I could use it to make more money. But I was wrong.

Today I realize that the main purpose of this newsletter is to
build a relationship with people like you, who are interested in
blogging, Internet marketing and doing business online.

Why is that? Because business is about people, and if you want to
grow you need to bring others along with you.

4. I Am Glad To Help If I Can

A relationship must be a two-way street, which means that, just like
you help me when you can, I am glad to help you if I can, too.

For example, if you just launched a new product or website and want
a retweet, let me know about it. If you need a contact of a web
designer or Internet marketing consultant, let me know about it. If
you need advice regarding a business decision, drop me an email
and I'll give you my opinion. So on and so forth.

I just can't promise I'll write about your website or post on my
blog, because I get dozens of such requests every week. But you sure
can send me the link, and the least I'll do is take a look.

That is it. I just wanted to clarify these points to make sure we
are on the same page, and to re-assure you that there is a real
person on the other side of the email messages you receive. A person
just like you!

I'll talk to you next week,
Daniel Scocco

George, Check These 100 Ways to Increase Your Traffic

Hi George,

Daniel Scocco here, and this is the Daily Blog Tips newsletter.

Today I want to point you to an article I just published on one
of my websites. The title is "100 Ways To Increase Your Website
Traffic."

------

As you probably know, traffic is one of the most important things
on the web. Without it your website or blog will be a failure, no
matter what.

If you have traffic, on the other hand, you'll be able to achieve
any objective you have, be it to make money, to launch your product,
to land a new job, to network with new people and so on.

That is why I decided to write an article with 100 ways you can use
to increase your traffic. Some of them might give you a huge boost,
while others will help a little bit, but combined I am sure you'll
see good results if you apply the methods I mention.

Here is the link for the article:

http://www.howtomakeawebsite.net/increase-website-traffic/

If you like, please help me spread the word with a stumble or a
retweet.

Daniel Scocco

George, Here Are 100 Things To Watch For in 20100

Hi George,

Daniel Scocco here, and this is the Daily Blog Tips newsletter.

Today I want to point you to an article I wrote, which contains a
very cool slide presentation with 100 things you should watch for
in 2011.

------

Whenever I come across "predictions," "trends" or "things to watch"
I make sure to read or at least scan through the material, as it
might contain information about stuff I don't know yet but should.
In other words, it's a way to keep my radar on for upcoming
opportunities.

That is why I went to flip through the slides of a presentation
titled "100 Things to Watch in 2011" a couple of days ago, and I
found it pretty interesting, so much that I decided to blog about
it, to share with other people. Here is the link to my post where
you can view the slides (click on "Menu" and "View full screen" to
be able to read it easily):

http://www.dailyblogtips.com/cool-presentation-100-things-to-watch-in-2011/

Keep in mind that the topics covered are very general, ranging from
countries that are growing fast to food that is spreading in
different regions of the world. That being said there are many
websites and technology trends listed. For example, have you ever
thought about ads inside CAPTCHA forms?

It's worth a read.

Talk to you soon,
Daniel Scocco

George, Do You Understand the Bounce Rate Concept?

Hi George,

Daniel Scocco here, and this is the Daily Blog Tips newsletter.

Today I want to talk about bounce rate, explaining what it really
is and how you can calculate it for your blog or website.

--------

Bounce rate is a very important metric for website owners. It
basically tells you what percentage of your visitors are "bouncing"
away after landing on your site (e.g., they just visit one page and
leave before clicking on to a second page inside your site). A
bounce can occur for several reasons, including:

* The visitor hit the "Back" button on his browser.
* The visitor closed his browser.
* The visitor clicked on one of your ads.
* The visitor clicked on one of your external links.
* The visitor used the search box on his browser.
* The visitor typed a new URL on his browser.

All the actions above would cause the visitor to leave your site.
Provided he did any of these actions right after arriving at your
site (and before clicking on to a second page), it would be counted
as a bounce. In fact the formula for finding the bounce rate on
your website is:

Bounce rate = Visits that left after one page / Total number of
visits

For example, if during a certain month your site received 120,000
visits, out of which 80,000 bounced after visiting just one page,
your bounce rate for that month would be 80,000 divided by 120,000,
which equals to 0.66 (or 66%). Notice that you can calculate the
bounce rate of your whole website or of single pages inside it.

Obviously the lower the bounce rate on your website, the better,
because it means that visitors are getting engaged by your content
and design, and that they are clicking to visit a second (third and
so on) page on your site.

How do you know the exact bounce rate on your site? A web analytics
program like Google Analytics will automatically track the numbers
for you.

WHAT IS A LOW BOUNCE RATE?

At this point you might be asking yourself what a low bounce rate
is. Is it 60%? Is it 30%? Unfortunately there is no definite answer
for this question. What is considered to be a low bounce rate will
vary, depending on the type of website that you have, on the
sources that are sending traffic to you and so on.

Content based websites like blogs and news portals, for example,
will naturally have a lower bounce rate than online stores or
product based websites, because on the former visitors will want to
read more articles, while on the latter they will either purchase
something or leave right away.

If you want some ballpark numbers, consider that a bounce rate of
80% or higher is considered high, regardless of the type of website
you have. Bounce rates between 40% and 80% are considered normal
for most websites, and a bounce rate below 40% is very good. Some
content sites and squeeze pages can have bounce rates below the 20%
mark, but this is rare.

In a future edition of the newsletter I'll share some tips and
tricks you can use to reduce your bounce rate, so stay tuned!

Talk to you next week,
Daniel Scocco
